A language exchange week 3

This week we discussed about every day conversations. Like, how are you and what is your name. A young Spanish speaking girl helped the English speakers. Like last week, we have some homework to do. The language exchange is on Thursdays at 6:30. This week was so much fun.

A Church Mishap

At church, I play with my youth band on Wednesdays. It all started when I couldn't hear myself. So I asked my youth minister if I was muted on the sound board. I wasn't muted so we tried the cord that I used. We thought it was the cord. A week later at practice I still wasn't working so my youth minister tried his guitar, it still wasn't working. So he put me in a another outlet. I could be heard. I was so happy. After all that, the number 15 outlet was broke or messed up. Now I'm in 11 or 12. I had a blast last night.

Relay For Life

Tonight is the Relay For Life. The Relay For Life is a fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. It's an all night walk around a track to raise money for the organization. I have done it for the past two years. It's a very important cause to me because I am a ten year survivor of Acute Lympoblastic Leukemia. I was on treatment for three years in Texas. Both of my Granddads are also survivors of cancer.

At the beginning of the walk, all the survivors line up around the track in purple shirts and open the walk with "the survivors lap." My scout troop is doing the luminary's for the survivors and the lost ones. The luminary's are bags filled with sand and a candle is placed at the bottom of each bag. Printed on each bag is the name of survivors or those whose lives have been lost. The bags are then lined around the track and the candles are lit in honor of the survivors and those who have been lost. My troop is also doing the flag ceremony.

I'm proud of my mom for being there for me when I was sick. I love her so dearly.

Wednesdays are for others

On Wednesday's, it all starts out me going to practice with my youth band. After that we head to eat.  once we're done eating we go deliver meals to the home bound. After we get back from delivering the meals we have youth for about an hour or so. And in summer my youth group helps with the box's. Every week the church packages about 100 to 120 box's each week. well,  I guess that's all folks.
